I started this one out on watercolor paper. I don't remember where but I had recently seen some combination of this watercolor and fabric painting. After layering and salting a few layers, I added some metallic acrylic swirls and then letit all dry. Afterwards I ironed the paper and sketched in some flowers. I acrylic painted the stems and leaves and then glued down some yarn for the petals. After the yarn flowers dried, I sewed randomly over each of the postcards and then added beads and a yellow button for the center. For the borders I used some dyed scraps and satin-stitched the postcards onto them. I then added a layer of batting and quilted around the postcards with embroidery floss. I couldn't quite find what I wanted amongst my scraps for the back so I painted it with watery blue and gold and a spray water bottle. I liked making this one but it was more work than I had planned for a first attempt. I love watercolor but I need more work on my technique -I can get the effect on fabric with acrylic and it's more permanent so I'll probably be doing that rather than this way.
